Pendant watch with diamonds

An unusual platinum, gold and enamel pendant watch with diamonds, assembled by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1920. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and platinum by Paul Ditisheim (P.D.), is framed by a laurel wreath, set with diamonds and the back enamelled. The silvered dial has Arabic hour numerals and steel hands. The movement has a Ditisheim precision escapement and is marked Grand Prix Paris 1900.
The dial is signed.

A comparable watch was sold at an auction in New York in 2012 for more than US$ 9.000 and its serial number suggests it was probably made in the same year as the watch presented here.
