Rare double dialed full hunter cased pocket watch

An extremely rare heavy astronomical gold full hunter cased watch with two dials, made by Picard Frères & F, Russer in la Chaux-ce-Fonds, Switzerland, circa 1875. This super heavy full hunter cased pocket watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold, has a numbered water drop shaped case of beautiful quality with Renaissance band and spring lids on both sides. The face displaying the time has Arabic hour numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial with beautiful gold hands in the shape of  a flower at six o’clock. The second face shows the triple calendar with days of the month in the outer ring, subsidiary dials at three end nine o’clock with days of the week and months of the year and regulation through the dial at twelve o’clock. The movement has and anker chronometer.
The triple calendar face is signed.

These so called “double dial” calendar watches by Picard Frères are extremely rare and technically of high quality. Another example was auctioned in Geneva in 2004 at the special auction “Exceptional Horological Sale Celebrating Antiquorum’s 30th Anniversary in Geneva” and sold for CHF 11.500.
