Pocket watch with minute repeater
–
A fine precision pocket watch with minute repeater, made by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1910. The numbered open faced plain case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and the white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement has a precision lever escapement, Geneva striping decoration and a minute repeater.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the dial, cuvette and movement are signed.

Diameter: 48,5 mm

Weight: 82 g

Signed: Vacheron & Constantin, Genève
–
The case is probably a second case, as Vacheron & Constantin had a numbering system with different movement and case numbers. It is assumed therefore, that the maker’s punch and the number in the case were punched later.
