Gold pocket watch for a  Federal Shooting Festival

An unusual marksman’s watch made for the Federal Shooting Festival 1924 in Aarau by Ulysse Nardin in Le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1924. The case of this watch, crafted from 18 carat gold, has a high relief on the back depicting a marksman, reads Du kennst den Schützen (You know the archer) and is signed Huguenin. The cuvette is inscribed Eidgenössisches Schützenfest Aarau 1924 Tir Fédéral. The white enamel dial features radial black Arabic hours, an outer minute track with blue Arabic 24 hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel moon hands. The numbered movement is fitted with a chronometer escapement and fine adjustment device.
The case, dial and movement are signed.
