Marksman’s watch for the Tir Federal Aarau 1924

A gold marksman’s watch for the Tir Federal in Aarau, made by Ulysse Nardin in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1924. The numbered open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold and has a back lid with the relief of a markman and the inscription Du kennst den Schützen. The cuvette is marked Eidgenössisches Schützenfest, 1924, Arau, Tir Féderal and the white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, black for 1 through to 12 o’clock and blue for 13 through to 24 o’clock, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered movement has a precision lever escapement and a fine adjusting device.
Case, dial and movement are signed.
