A rare Swiss, 18 carat pink gold keyless quarter repeating chronograph pocket watch with date and alarm, circa 1880. Retailed by Ch. Grottendieck Bruxelles. A polished case with a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track with Arabic 24 hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials. Blued steel spade hands. Gilt brass movement, radial decoration, two barrels wound clockwise for the going and anti clockwise for the alarm, 34 jewels, straight line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
