A Swiss 18 carat gold quarter repeating keyless astronomical pocket watch, circa 1880. With moon phases and a triple calendar. Made for the Spanish market. A massive, fully engraved case with a bright-cut floral and foliage decoration. Gold cuvette engine-turned and engraved with floral decoration. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for the months, the days of the week. The dates and the subsidiary seconds with inner moon phase aperture and gold paste-set hands. Glazed, nickel-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 29 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Signed on the dial, case and movement.
