Moulinié refers to a company, Moulinié & Bautte, in the last decade of the 18th. He was a manufacturer of cases for pocket watches for Jean-Francois Bautte (1793-1802) in Geneva at the beginning of the 20th century. As early as 1804, the company, now called “Moulinier, Bautte und Cie”, made clocks. From 1808 to 1821, it was already known for its high-quality watches. The partners separated in 1826: Bautte formed “Bautte & Moynier”, Moulinié formed “Moulinié Aine & Cie.”, Which after 1840 became “Moulinié Frères & Cie”. Moulinier, Bautte & Moynier produced some of today’s most sought-after form clocks and enamel clocks, including the famous enamelled pistols with hidden clocks.
