Gold lever pocket watch with chronograph

A very fine and rare Swiss, minute repeating, 18K gold and champlevé enamel pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1902. Sold on October 22nd, 1903. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. A polished case, the back cover decorated with a royal blue translucent enamel monogram, bolt at 11 to lock the chronograph. Dedicated hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial dauphine numerals, outer minute track and concentric fifths of a second division, red Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XVI hands.

A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, chronograph button in the crown, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
