A very fine and rare gold, enamel Swiss hunting cased ladies watch with diamond setting and minute repeater, circa 1880.
18K gold hunting case of exceptional quality; spring lid decorated with enamel painting and diamond setting, representation of flower tendrils, a butterfly and a bird; the back also with an enamel painting, showing flowers and branches. Enamel dial, marked Beaumont – Made in Switzerland (brand name of Georges Freydier-Dubreul & Xavier Janicot), Roman radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and blued steel hands. Top quality miniature precision lever movement, probably an Audemars calibre, and minute repeater.
