Gold watch with a special case and dial

A fine Swiss, heavy, keyless, 18K yellow gold and black enamel pocket watch with a special case and dial made for the South American Market, circa 1890. A solid case covers centred by painted black scenes representing a resting hunting dog and on the reverse, dead game lying by a tree trunk, surrounded by engraved floral and hunting pattern, engine-turned band, and hinged cuvette. Silvered dial with painted radial Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds dial, applied central and peripheral floral gold decoration. Blued steel spade hands. A nickel movement, engraved sunburst decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with screws, and blued steel flat balance spring. Case, dial and movement signed.
