A fine and rare Swiss, Louis XVI style, 18K gold keyless pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1883. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. The back cover with engraved foliate monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. Unusual bridge calibre, nickel-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised and calibrated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, steel chronograph work mounted on the backplates activated by a single button in the crown, chronograph locking slide in the band. Case and cuvette signed. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and concentric fifths of the second scale, gold-painted Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands.
