Very small Swiss 18K gold and painted enamel keyless lady’s pendant watch, circa 1901. Accompanied by a gold and red enamel clip. Retailed by Spaulding & Co., Chicago.The reverses in translucent deep red enamel with a central portrait of a veiled lady, outer reserve and bezel with wreath design, decorated band, and hinged gold cuvette inscribed Marion, from Ed.

White enamel dial, inner deep red Roman numerals and gold floral dots, outer minute track and gilt 5-minute Arabic numerals and gold Louis XV hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, captive barrel with inset arbour, straight-line lever escapement, cut and compensated bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case, dial and movement signed by the retailer, movement signed and numbered by manufacturer, case similarly numbered.
