A fine Swiss/French, 18K gold hunting cased double-dialled pocket watch with a duo-date calendar, circa 1890. Engine-turned covers with polished borders, the front cover with an engraved monogram MA. White enamel dial on the front with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and five-minute Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. White annular enamel on the rear with a black Arabic chapter on the border for the date and inner days of the week. Blued steel hands. A nickel movement, 18 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, and an index regulator. Case signed.
