Pink gold buttonhole watch

A very fine and rare, small Swiss 18 carat pink gold keyless gentleman’s buttonhole lapel watch made for Gondolo & Labouriau, Relojoeiros, Rio de Janeiro, circa 1913. Accompanied by the original leather buttonhole cord, the original presentation box, a certificate and extra glass. A solid, polished, engine turned case back and hinged gold cuvette.

White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and pink gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, patented bridge calibre, 18 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, a gold wheel train, straight line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and Wilmot’s patented micrometre cam regulator. Dial, case and movement signed.
