Gold open faced lever watch
–
A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch from the late 19th century. It has a mechanical hand wound movement with lever escapement and high quality wolf tooth ratchets (dents de loup) on the winding wheels, protected by an inner gold cuvette. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals at five minute intervals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and delicate blued steel filigree hands. The plain 18 carat yellow gold case has a fluted crown with a circular bow and shows signs of previous damage.
