Gold open faced lever watch

A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva in the mid 20th century. It is fitted with a signed and numbered, hand wound mechanical lever movement. The silvered dial features gilt Arabic hour numerals, outer dot minute divisions and poker & beetle style hands. The plain case has a matching number to the movement. The watch comes in a blue presentation box, is further accompanied by an 18 carat yellow gold Léontine, adorned with a medal engraved JLR 15 mars 1932 and fitted with a black grosgrain ribbon.

A Léontine is a type of watch chain for a pocket watch. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was a popular accessory used to attach the watch to clothing, often a waistcoat or buttonhole. It is the female counterpart to the heavier gentlemen’s “Albert chain.”
