Gold hunting cased watch in a wooden box

A large and heavy Swiss 18K gold hunting cased keyless pocket lever chronometer, circa 1890. Jûrgensen’s patent bow hand setting was patented in 1867. Accompanied by the original numbered fitted wooden box, spare crystals, rating certificate and instructions for setting the hands. A massive, polished case, the front cover engraved with a monogram, Jürgensen’s patented bow hand setting. Hinged gold-rimmed glazed cuvette.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and blued steel Breguet hands. A rhodium-plated movement, 17 jewels, the visible jewels in screwed gold chatons, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement with an elongated fork, large diameter cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with a terminal curve, large index regulator with an engraved scale on the centre bridge. Dial, case and movement signed.
