A Swiss cylinder in a pearl and hardstone cameo-set watch and chatelaine, circa 1870. Key less gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder and steel escape wheel. White enamel dial with blue Roman and Arabic numerals pierced golden hands. Small gold open faced case with plain gold cuvette. Pearl set front bezel and bow. Clip on back, the gold bezel set with a row of split pearls around a circular brown hardstone cut away to depict a seated classically dressed woman. Joined to the rectangular buckle by a short diamond set gallery. Decorated similarly to the back of the watch, the buckle has a gilt metal clip and a horizontal gold pin to allow it to be used as a brooch glazed Morocco display case lined with blue velvet.
