A fine and rare 18 Carat gold open faced keyless double-dialled pocket watch with independently adjustable dual time zones triple date calendar and phases of the moon. Made for the Turkish market in Switzerland, circa 1890. Three body and polished case with correctors in the bezel for the calendar.
White enamel dial with two meantime dials, the first with radial Roman numerals, the second with Islamic numerals, subsidiary seconds and gold paillon decoration. Reverse: white enamel dial with two subsidiary dials for days of the week and months (in Arabic), phases of the moon aperture at 6 o’clock, outermost Islamic date scale and gilt and blued steel hands. Movement with 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring and an index regulator.
