Gold full hunter watch for the Russian market

A Swiss gold hunting cased double dialled keyless lever calendar watch with moon phases for the Russian market, circa 1890. This watch has a gilded jewelled movement with a lever escapement, signed Calandrier Brevete. The front has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, a centrefield with an aperture for moon phases, and fancy hands; the back dial has a manual calendar indicating day, date, and month in Cyrillic and fancy hands. It has a 14 carat gold plain hunting case; the inside front is marked for 14k gold with the Russian gold mark ’56’ and numbered 560/1, and the inside back is marked for 14k gold with the Russian gold mark ’56’ and numbered 52560/1.

The movement runs smoothly, and the moon phases progress as expected. The case is in good overall condition, showing light scratches throughout. The dial front displays some signs of restoration below the arbour and between X and XI, with a hairline crack visible between IIII and V.
