A very fine and elegant gold enamel hunting cased Swiss pocket watch, for the Ottoman market, circa 1890.
18 gold case, entirely costly engine turned and translucent red enamelled, the front cover with engraved golden laurel wreaths with a centred diamond-set Arabic character and gold dome. Enamel dial with Ottoman numerals, auxiliary seconds and Louis XVI hands. Divided 3/4 plate movement, frosted, gilt, screwed gold chatons, screw compensation balance, blued balance spring.
