–
A remarkable Swiss gold, silver, enamel and diamond set escutcheon shaped ladies’ pendant watch with a visible balance, circa 1810. Accompanied by the original red Morocco leather presentation box and original diamond set key.
The case is in the form of a shield, both bezels and the bow set with old cut diamonds, an engraved band depicting a duck hunter with two hounds going after a wild boar, the back showing a gold framed polychrome enamel bouquet of flowers on a cobalt blue translucent enamel ground. On the front a peripheral white enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, and in the upper part a window revealing the balance also set with diamonds against a blued steel background.
The movement is escutcheon shaped, frosted, key wind with a going barrel, cylinder escapement, monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring.
