Unsigned pendant watch in the shape of a heart
–
A Swiss/French gold diamond and ruby-set keyless lever heart-form pendant watch, circa 1890. This watch features an unsigned Swiss gilded movement with a cylinder escapement and a plain three-arm balance. The dial is white enamel with blue Arabic numerals and a red 12 o’clock, along with an outer gilded minute ring. The case is made of gold, with bezels on the front and back set with diamonds. The centre of the back is set with a heart-shaped ruby, and there is an olivette for hand-setting to the left of the pendant. It also has a plain polished hinged gold cuvette with control marks, and the case back and cuvette are numbered 20684. The pendant is diamond-set, and it comes with a short, incomplete diamond-set suspension chain.

The watch is in good overall condition, with the exception of a missing diamond at the bottom right of the pendant. The ruby has some chips and cracks. The control marks on the inside of the case are a bit difficult to read, but they appear to be French.
