A rare and large Swiss gunmetal open faced keyless musical cylinder pocket watch, 1900. Plain case, snap-on bezel with a brass edge, hinged reverse, a slide for music start/stop to the band, time adjustment to the right of the stem and a mainspring/music barrel lever to the left of the stem. White enamel dial with an eccentric Roman chapter and outer minute divisions at 12 o’clock, gilt spade hands, painted musical trophies with foliate branches on each side underneath. Patented, nickel-plated movement, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, musical cylinder movement with 31 vibrating blade comb, patented centrifugal governor, two different tunes playing on request or automatically on the hour. Stamped with maker’s mark inside the back cover.
