Large gunmetal keyless musical watch

Very rare large gunmetal, keyless musical watch, playing on request or automatically on the hour, with painted enamel dial. Made by Monnier, Bienne, Switzerland Circa 1900. Three body bassine case with snap on bezel with brass edge, hinged reverse, music start/stop slide to the band, time adjustment to the right of the stem and mainspring/music barrel lever to the left of the stem.
White enamel dial with eccentric Roman chapter with outer minute divisions set at the top, below painted musical trophies with foliate branches on each side and gilt spade hands. Patented and nickel plated movement with cylinder escapement, three arm brass balance with flat balance spring, cylinder musical movement with 31 vibrating blade comb and patented centrifugal governor.
Stamped with maker’s mark inside back cover.
