A Swiss 18 Carat gold, enamel and diamond set keyless cylinder pendant form watch in the shape of a red Asian ladybug with a concealed dial, circa 1880. Retailed by Charles Oudin, Horloger de la Marine, 52, Palais Royal, Paris.
A ladybug shaped case with spring loaded engine turned translucent red enamel wings painted with black enamel dots, the rim diamond set, the neck, eyes and loop are also set with diamonds. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute track and spade hands. Heart shaped, gilded brass movement with going barrel, 27 x 21 mm, a cylinder escapement, gilt brass monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring.
Accompanied by a fitted presentation box.
