A very fine Swiss 18K gold and enamel open faced Louis XV ladies’ watch, circa 1870.
Elaborately engine-turned case, the bezels and bow engraved, a polychrome enamel floral painting on the back, maker’s mark ED in a lozenge. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, gold minute dots and half-hour markers, outer Arabic five-minute numerals and original Louis XV-style hands. Movement with cylinder escapement, eight rubies, key-winding.
