A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat pink gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless chronograph pocket watch with triple calendar and moon phases made by Louis Brandt & Frère SA, circa 1890. Plain case with maker’s mark LBF for Louis Brandt & Frère. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, outermost fifth of a second divisions calibrated from 0-300, subsidiary dials for the months, days of the week, date and constant seconds with a concentric aperture for the moon phases, and blued steel spade hands. A frosted gilt ¾ plate movement with jewels in screwed chatons, lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, diamond endstone and an index regulator, the repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
