A fine Swiss gold open faced watch with calendar and spring detent made for the Turkish market with nicole nielson style winding, circa 1890, nickel movement with unusual plate layout incorporating Nicole Nielsen-type winding and setting, spring detent escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, glass dial with overlaid white finish, Turkish numerals, subsidiary dial for date at 12 o’clock and days of the week at 6 o’clock, gold case, reeded bezels, glazed case back.
