A fine French 18K yellow gold open faced cylinder pocket watch, circa 1850.
Polished case, hinged back cover with engraved black enamel floral pattern, the motif repeating on the band, bow and bezel, hinged cuvette (broken). Silver dial, engine-turned centre, outer polished chapter ring with painted black Roman numerals, outer minute track, blued steel Breguet hands. A frosted gilt movement, cylinder escapement, key-winding, three-arm balance with flat balance spring, index regulator. Dial and cuvette signed.
