Gold watch with royal blue translucent enamel monogram

A very fine and rare Swiss, 18K yellow gold and enamel dress watch, circa 1902.
A keyless, five-minute repeater made for Shreve, Crump & Low Co., Boston, in 1902 and sold in 1904. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe box and the Extract from the Archives. A solid, polished bassine, the back with royal blue translucent enamel monogram, concealed hinge. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with painted Breguet numerals, outer minute track, red-painted Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds dial with red painted ten-second numerals. Gold Louis XV hands.
A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 32 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed.
