A fine English 18 carat gold hunting cased pocket watch with duplex escapement, circa 1820. Made by James McCabe, Royal Exchange in London. The engine turned case by Thomas Warren with London Hallmarks, a reeded band, and chased floral and foliage bezels, pendant and bow. Gilt metal cuvette. Gold dial, frosted chapter ring with applied polished radial Roman hour numerals, outer dot minute markers, subsidiary seconds, a wavy line engine turned center and gold spade hands. Frosted gilt full plate movement with ring turned pillars, fusee and chain, Harrison’s maintaining power, a duplex escapement, uncut gold three arm balance with three peripheral screws, blued steel flat balance spring, diamond end stone and an index regulator.
Movement and dust cover signed, case numbered.
