Gold half-hunter watch with lever chronometer

A Swiss half-hunter pocket watch with a lever chronometer in quality extra entered 1902 for the Geneva observatory competition Chronomètres 1er Classe. With Patek Philippe’s extract from the archives and a copy of the rating certificate of the Observatoire de Genève dated April 7, 1902.
The plain case is 18-carat pink gold with an inlaid enamel monogram. The dial is white enamel with subsidiary seconds and blue hands. It has a bridge movement and gold screw Guillaume balance with platinum regulation screws.

Charles Batifolier was the maker who regulated this watch; the watch was awarded 229.9 points in the chronometer test, which meant position 5 out of 117 competitors. Batifolier was known as one of the “superstars” in his field, alongside Favre-Rochat, Golay-Audemars, Modoux, Olivier, Wehrli, Zibach and others.
