Gold quarter repeating chronometer by Lagier

A very fine Geneva quarter-hour repeating chronometer, circa 1870. The timepiece boasts an 18K gold engine turned hunter case with an engraved cartouche featuring a dust cover inscribed with the word CHRONOMETRE and bearing the name of its Russian owner, Alexandra Woynowa. It also includes a rocker chronometer with a quarter-hour repeater, a signed enamel dial adorned with black painted Roman numerals, a subsidiary dial for constant seconds, an outer minute track, and gold halberd hands.

Adrien Lagier, Swiss watchmaker
Adrien Lagier was a watchmaker and dealer who worked in Geneva from approximately 1830 to 1888. It is believed that he may have originated from La Chaux-de-Fonds and went by the name Jean-Adrien. Adrien was born around 1804 to Jean Antoine Lagier and Marthe Marguerite Aimée Nancy Bugnon.
