Made for the prestigious Italian retailer V. Astrua of Turin, the present watch is one of very few Patek Philippe watches that are known with specially made dials to the customer’s order, those other known examples were usually made for watches for Observatory trial. That does not seem to be the case for the present watch and it has not been possible to discover the meaning of the series of numbers on the dial, presumably only of significance to Astrua.
