A rare minute repeating hunting case pocket watch with carillon, circa 1880. 18k gold case, paste set front cover, engraved decor, ornamented with a white-tailed eagle in high relief, slide for repeating mechanism, glazed movement. Enamel dial, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, blued spade hands. Bridge movement, rhodium-plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 3 hammers, 3 gongs, screwed chatons, screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, counterpoised lever.
