An extremely rare Patek Philippe pocket chronograph, calibre Chronometro Gondolo with crown pusher, circa 1890. Delivered to Dubois in Rio de Janeiro.
Signed and numbered Patek Philippe Ankerchronometer movement of rare quality, calibre Chronometro Gondolo in nickel-plated design, special fine adjusting device, wolf’s toothing, very early crown-pusher chronograph, movement number 80874. Signed enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic five minutes/seconds numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and pink gold hands. Plain 18K pink gold à-goutte case, very rare case shape as seen on Patek Philippe pocket watches with multiple complications, case number 207072, dome signed Patek Philippe and Du Bois Rio de Janeiro.

This watch is an extremely rare Patek Philippe chronograph. It belongs to the 1st series for the South American market, using the ‘Gondolo’ chronometer calibre. However, this watch was not made for the usual recipient Gondolo & Labourian, Rio de Janeiro, but for the Dubois company in Rio!
