–
A Swiss yellow gold open faced pocket chronometer watch, circa 1903. Made for Frederick Van Voorhies Holman in 1903 and retailed by A&C Feldenheimer. This watch features a 19″” ligne movement with a Guillaume balance, 21 jewels, and a lever escapement. It has a white enamel dial adorned with Breguet numerals, Louis XV hands, and a sunk seconds dial. Black Breguet numerals represent the hour markers, while the minutes are displayed in red Arabic numerals. The case is made of 18 carat yellow gold and includes a personally inscribed cuvette and a monogrammed hinged back. The maker signs the case and the dial, while the maker and the retailer sign the movement. The case back is monogrammed F.V.H., and the cuvette is personally inscribed: Made for Frederick Van Voorhies Holman, Portland, Oregon, 1904.

The watch is included in a Patek Philippe presentation box, a Certificate of Origin confirming that the case is engraved with the monogram F. V. H., an Extract from the Archives verifying the date of sale as November 28, 1904, noting that the watch received an honourable mention at the 1904 chronometer timing contest, and a copy of the Observatory Timing Certificate.
