Gold pocket watch with anker chronometer escapement

A fine open faced anker chronometer, the Chronometer Gondolo, made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1903. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat pink gold, is engine turned on the back and bears the inscription Fabricado expressamente para Gondolo & Labouriau Relojoeiros Rio-de-Janeiro on the cuvette. The white enamel dial has Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and pink gold spade hands. The numbered movement is fitted with a moustache lever escapement of the caliber Gondolo, gold wheels, a chronometer balance, fine adjusting device and wolf’s toothing.
Dial and movement are signed.
