Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch with a matching watch chain from the late 19th century. It has a high grade mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, a Breguet overcoil hairspring, and a compensation balance. The movement pivot holes are jewelled with rubies. The white enamel dial features black Roman numerals for the hours, a fine outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and ornate pink gold tone hands.

The timepiece is housed in a smooth round double body 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a plain polished reverse back cover, a fluted winding crown, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a solid 18 carat gold inner protective cuvette elaborately engraved with detailed descriptions of its mechanical features framed by an intricate floral scrollwork border. The watch is accompanied by a matching 18 carat yellow gold watch chain crafted with polished curb links weighing 26.78 grams.
