A rare Swiss half hunting cased pocket watch of Royal provenance with presentation engraving, circa 1890.
18 carat pink gold case with inlaid radial Roman enamelled numerals; the jumping lid on the back side with an applied royal crown and presentation engraving: “A. Emanuele Balestreri S. A. R. La Principessa Vittoria Augusta di Borbone ‘Capua'” and engraved and signed gold dome. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, blued radial Arabic minutes, auxiliary seconds and Louis XV hands. Nickel-plated decorated bridge movement with screwed gold chatons, wolfteeth winding wheels, screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.

Freres Bergeon was founded in 1837 , presumably by Louis-François Bergeon and continued by the sons Fritz-Henri Bergeon (1848-1926) and François-Bergeon (1842-1902). Fréres Bergeon was dumped in 1881 . Other registered brand names are, “Tan na Nopmi” (1890), “Gardenia FB” and “Veloce” (1894), “Veloce Chronometro” (1900), “Traforo del Sempione” (1902). At the Swiss National Exhibition in Zurich in 1883 , the company won a prize for the exceptionally beautiful workmanship, the variety and the good taste of its products.
