A decorative Swiss 18K gold, enamel and diamond-set hunting cased lever pocket watch made for the Ottoman market with a matching pearl-set gold watch chain, circa 1890. The watch has a gilt-frosted 4/5 plate movement, with screwed gold chatons and a side lever escapement. It also features a gold screwed compensation balance and a gold cuvette with enamelled decor. The white enamel dial has radial Ottoman numerals, auxiliary seconds, and blued spade hands. The engine-turned case is decorated with translucent red and green enamel, framed by an opaque black and white enamelled band. The front of the case is adorned with a diamond-set stylized flower head, while the back showcases a polychrome miniature painting of military instruments, the Turkish flag with a crescent moon and star. The band of the case is engraved with a geometrical pattern.
