–
A Swiss 18K yellow gold and enamel quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1810-1820. Gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, key-winding, gilt-brass monometallic balance, blued steel flat hairspring, pierced and engraved gilded continental cock, quarter repeating on two steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
Round-shaped case, the back painted on enamel by an unidentified workshop showing a young girl holding two kittens in her dress, one of the cats a nasty one looking through the corner of the eyes, probably the ancestor of the Angry Cat. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minutes track and blued Breguet hands.
