Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced quarter repeating musical pocket watch, circa 1880. The watch features a key wound movement with a cylinder escapement and pin barrel musical mechanism. Its gilt dial has white enamel cartouches with black Arabic hour numerals, a white enamelled minute track and blued steel moon hands. The dial’s center showcases a polychrome enamel scene depicting an angel playing the violin. The case has an engine turned pattern, a hinged back and a gilt signed cuvette.

The movement is functioning well and the overall condition is
very good. The engine turning shows slight wear but remains visible. The dial is also in very good condition, with the enamel intact. One small hairline in the outer track can be seen under magnification. The center field and numerals are in excellent condition, with no visible hairlines.
