Gold open faced pocket watch

A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch made by Vacheron in Geneva, circa 1830. The frosted gilt movement with a cylinder escapement, three arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring and an index regulator, the repeating with two polished steel hammers on two gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Brushed silver dial with Roman hour numerals, a florally engraved center and original moon hands. The case is entirely foliate chased and engraved, the reverse with an engine turned ground and a further gold hinged cuvette. Cuvette signed.
