A gentleman’s rare quarter repeating pocket watch musical movement, circa 1815. 18k gold case, engine turned. Dial is gold, engine-turned, chased, engraved foliate scrolls, the centre with a depiction of two dancing nymphs, enamel cartouches with Arabic numerals, blued scotties hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, 1 barrel for going train, 1 barrel for musical movement, pinned disc, 27 vibrating blades, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass ring balance.
