A very fine and large, Swiss 18K pink gold keyless minute repeating hunting cased pocket watch, circa 1880. The front cover with an engraved foliate monogram DT and the interior of the back cover is engraved V.T., 1942. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details and Domenico Toneatti 1859, glazed gold-rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds, gold spade hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 27 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised and calibrated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial and cuvette signed.
