–
A Swiss, gold, minute repeating keyless-winding Bassine pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph, minute recorder and open face, circa 1901.
This watch has four horological complications: – Minute-repeater on two steel gongs (activated by the slide at 7:30) – 1/5 second chronograph (activated by the round push-piece located on the winding-crown) – Split-seconds (activated by the rectangular push-piece located on the case band at 10:30) – Half-instantaneous 30-minute recorder (subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock).
It has a round-shaped, 18-carat yellow gold, polished case. An enamel dial with Breguet radial hours, outer minutes/seconds track with red Arabic five minutes/seconds numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6, 30-minute recorder at 12, and spade hands. And a rhodium-plated movement with going barrel, straight-line equilibrated lever escapement, compensated balance, and blued steel hairspring with a terminal curve.
Dial, case and movement signed. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives, dated September 14, 2018, mentioned that this watch was sold on January 9, 1903.
