Gold skeletonized automaton watch

A fine Swiss, 18K gold, half skeletonized quarter repeating watch with automaton Jacks, circa 1815. An engine-turned with a twisted band, glazed cuvette. White enamel dial chapter ring with Breguet numerals and outer minute divisions. Gilt Louis hands. Martin-Martine type varicoloured chased gold Jacks, on each side of the dial over the polished steel repeating work set over the frosted and gilt chased front plate, appearing to strike the hours and quarters on two bells. An engraved gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, brushed steel cock, repeating on two gongs by depressing the pendant. Cuvette and dial signed. Property of an Italian Gentleman.
